Digital X-Ray          

 X-ray technology has been the baseline diagnostic tool in both hospitals and imaging centers for years.X-rays provide a quick and cost effective method for looking at bony structures in the body. Mt Scott Diagnostic Imaging has chosen to provide Digital X-ray for the ease and convenience for our patients and their physicians.  Digital X-ray eliminates the need to “process film" much the same way that your digital camera at home eliminates the need to have your film processed at your local drugstore.  In addition to being very convenient, it also allows for a much better patient experience.  No need to wait for film processing to make sure the image will provide the answer your doctor is looking for – the image appears instantaneously.

What should I expect during my X-ray exam?

An X-ray exam will take between 10 and 30 minutes depending on the type of x-ray your physician has ordered for you. There are no special instructions that you must adhere to prior to having an X-ray and following your exam you can return to your normal activity.  Your study will be interpreted by a Board Certified Radiologist and the results will be communicated to your doctor with 12-24 hours.  In some cases the results of your x-ray exam will warrant a more in depth examination with another imaging modality such as MRI.
